Being back in Sydney I realize just how lucky we are to have such awesome salsa teacher in Dubai. I thought the Sydney scene was good - Dubai is far better, and I love being a part of that.

The high light of the British Congress for me was meeting and working with Del Piero, from Dubai. His approach and passion for Cuban Salsa was so refreshing , and i was really moved by his understanding of the Cuban dance style, and spirit. Dancing with him was a real joy, as he has all the soul ,wit and confidence to make you feel like a 19 year old Cuban chica- despite being 5 months pregnant !. Dancing with him felt safe, fluid and fun. In class Del Piero was so professional , and keen to work on detail, which is so important when dancing "Son". Joining your course Del Piero was the best thing I have done this year,,you gave all of us a great gift by teaching us how to feel the music and enjoy it more! Now I can without a doubt understand what you meant when you used to say people should see the music from our moves.. I love the way Del Piero teaches. He doesn't simply teach moves or the flash about salsa. What he teaches IS salsa. He teaches history, music, culture, and passion. As an educator myself, I recognize in Del Piero so much that truly appeals to me. He is a gentle teacher who cares not that his students just look good on a dance floor, but that they are competent and are grounded in what salsa is - its roots, philosophy, and the culture that surrounds it. He peppers his lessons with such inspirational thoughts that make you, the student, want to be better; not only to learn a step but to feel the music and to engage with it. He is not interested in the flash that lures many to learn to dance, but instead with the feeling, the sentiment, the emotion, the beauty of the music. As a teacher, a dancer, and simply as a human being, Del Piero is very genuine.
